Nowadays, the studies on the application that multi-mineral reinforced polymer are minor. And the studies on the application that different crystal forms of silicate minerals add to plastic are less minor, the crystal forms of which are fibrous, slice or granular.This paper studies the Preparation of silicate mineral /polymer, which takes the engineering plastic ABS (acrylonitrile- butadiene-styrene) or low density polyethylene (LDPE ) as the matrix of the polymer, and takes three kinds of silicate mineral as the fillers. On researching the properties of silicate mineral/ABS, including yield stress, tensile strength, impact strength and hardness, and the properties of silicate mineral/LDPE, including tensile strength , melt index and hardness, the best prescription of silicate mineral/ABS and silicate mineral/LDPE can be decided. The research achievements as follow:1. On the basis of orthogonal experiment and single factor experiment, the best prescription of modification can be decided. The best prescription of modification: The consumption of WD-70 relative to wollastonite and pearlite is 1% (a silanes coupling agents), which used to modify wollastonite and pearlite, and the consumption of WD-70 relative to muscovite is 1.5%, which used to modify muscovite. The temperature of modifying is 120℃, the time of modifying is 20min, and the proportion of consumption of modification auxiliary (ammonia water) and the consumption of WD-70 is 1: 1.2. The best proportion of three kinds of silicate minerals added into ABS is wollastonite: Muscovite:pearlite =1:1:0.And in this proportion, the properties of multi-silicate mineral/ABS superior to the single-silicate mineral/ABS. Among three kinds of single-silicate mineral/ABS, the properties of muscovite/ABS is the best, and the properties of pearlite/ABS is the worse.3. The best proportion of three kinds of silicate mineral added into LDPE is wollastonite: Muscovite:pearlite =1:1:1.when the proportion of silicate mineral fillers is 30%, tensile strength of silicate mineral/LDPE raises 2%, melt index of silicate mineral/LDPE raises 19%, hardness of silicate mineral/LDPE raises 120%.4. The micro structure of the composite which observed by the scanning electron microscopy shows: The interface associativity of silicate mineral/ABS which modified by WD-70 is better than modified by WD-50; When the L/D ratio of wollastonite is 11.00, the interface associativity of wollastonite/ABS is better, which superior to the L/D ratio of wollastonite is 7.52; when wollastonite: Muscovite:pearlite =1:1:1, the interface associativity of silicate mineral/ABS is better; As three kinds of silicate mineral scatter more even in the LDPE, the interface associativity of silicate mineral/LDPE is smooth better than silicate mineral/ABS.5. The course of forming interface of the fillers and resin includes the course of contacting and invading of the resin and fillers and the solidification course that thechemical bond combines .And the integrality of interface is directly influence the propertiesof the composite. However, the integrality of interface is relevant with the geometry form of the fillers, Chemical reaction activation, flexibility of composite and chemical constitution.6. silicate mineral/ABS has an advantage of reducing the cost, and compared with pure ABS, its rigidity ^ wearability and chemical inactivity can be improved in different degrees. So in some fields, the application of silicate mineral/ABS can avoid causing the performance surplus, and also can reduce the cost, increase economic efficiency.7. Compared with pure LDPE, silicate mineral/LDPE has the better properties in tensile strength > processability> wearability and rigidity. And as taking silicate mineral into LDPE, the application of silicate mineral/LDPE also can reduce the cost. So the prospects of application of silicate mineral/LDPE are brightening.
