Flow Control Forming is a newly developed process in recent years. It has been applied in the mass production of some complex components such as scroll of air conditioning compressor and motor airbag in Japan and Germany. Its characteristic is that it can precisely control inhomogeneous plastic flow of metals and improve both manufacturing and performance of part. It can effectively reduce stress on the die and fill the cavity uniformly ,it also can make the surface of parts more smooth . Nowadays it is the hot topic in the international industry of plastic working.In this paper, flow stress of aluminum-silicon alloy 4032 is studied through experiment.With the material parameter , scroll's Flow Control Forming(also called counterpressure forming in this paper) was simulated with the FEM software DEFORM-3D. The main researches and results of this paper are as follows:1. With the aluminum-silicon alloy 4032 , flow stress under different temperature and strain rate was measured by means of GLEEBLE-1500 simulator in the experiment .This provided material parameters for numerical simulation.2. Three different scrolls' forming process without counterpressure was simulated and the influence of change in diameter of base plate on scroll extruded length was studied.3. Regularity of scroll extruded length under different counterpressure and the influence of counterpressure on forming load was studied.A reasional...
