| Directed by the liquid crystal basical theory and the theory-experience of polymer/montmorillonite nanocomposites ,we designed and finished this dissertation. It consists five parts:Part one is about the synthesis and determination of intercalation agents.With 4-(6-aminohexaneoxy)-4 -cyanobiphenyl as material,we chosed appropriate routes to synthesize the liquid crystalline intercalation agents: 4-(6-aminohexaneoxy) -4 -cyanobiphenyl (ZB) and N,N-biethyl-6-(4'-cyanobiphenyloxy)-hexylamine (ZS). The structure of the target molecules and their intermediates were determined by FTIR, 1HNMR, DSC(differential scanning calorimeter) and EA (elementary analysis).Part two is about the preparation of organophilic montmorillonite.In order to improve the compatibility of montmorillonite(MMT) with the liquid crystals, we purified the natural MMT and modified it with four intercalation agents.After compared their results, we defined ZS-OMMT and ZB-OMMT effectively. Their structure and performances were characterized by FTIR, XRD (X-ray diffraction), TG (thermal gravimetry), TEM (electron microscopic autoradiography).Part three is about the preparations of single component liquid crystals/ MMT composites.Firstly choosen ZB-OMMT as org-MMT and used single component liquid crystal, we prepared single component liquid crystals/ MMT composites. Their structure and performances were characterized by FTIR, 1HNMR , DSC POM(polarized optical microscope).Part four consisted the following points:Firstly acrylic acid was polymerized by choosing potassium persulfate and bisulfite natrium as initiator and water as solvent.The viscosity-average molecules weight or intrinsic viscosity of polymer (PAA) were determined by viscometry.Secondly we prepared two supramolecules liquid crystals(ZB/PAA, ZS/PAA) by approporite routes. The performance and texture of them were determined by FTIR,DSC, POM, XRD.Finally supramolecules liquid crystals (ZB/PAA, ZS/PAA) compounded with ZB-OMMT and ZS-OMMT respectively to give their composites. At the same time the performance and texture of them were determined by FTIR, DSC, POM, XRD.Part five is about purification and measurement of liquid crystals for display and rearrangement of the STN LCD materials of 10th five year plan of Anhui province. |
