As an important member of nanophase materials,nanophase oxide materials play an important part in refined ceramics,electric eye,magnetic materials,sensors,catalysts and luminous materials.In this paper nanophase oxide materials and their preparations are reviewed on the basis of studying lots of literature at home and abroad.The history, theory, basic process and application of Sol-Gel method are also introduced.Compared with other methods, Sol-Gel method is widely used owing to its uncomplicated equipment, low sinter temperature, uniform production and convenient operation.In this paper, nanophase ZnO, TiO2 and YAG powders are prepared by different systems of Sol-Gel method.The morphology and size of powders are characterized by means of thermal analysis(TG-DTA), XRD and TEM. Polymer-network gel system is best among stearic acid system, oxalic acid system, citrate system and polymer-network gel system.The nanophase ZnO powders prepared by polymer-network gel system with diameter in the range of 30-50 nm have round shape,good dispersion and uniform distribution.Titanium terabutoxide system is best among achloride system, titanium terabutoxide system and stearic acid system. The nanophase rutile TiO2 powders prepared by titanium terabutoxide system with diameter in the range of 40-60 nm have round shape,good dispersion and uniform distribution.Nanophase YAG powders are prepared by polymer-network gel system at 900℃ .The form temperature of YAG is lower than solid phase reaction.The distribution of YAG powers is 10-30nm.Because the particles are fine,the particles have bad dispersion and a mass of agglomeration.
