Along with the globl market becoming a whole,the competition ofmanufacturing has been more and more drastic,the speed of product developing andthe quality of product become more and more important.For these reasons,ReverseEngineering(RE)and Rapid Prototyping(RP) appeared,but the way has twoweaknesses:the fitting of point cloud to free face in RP require high technical leveland depend on the operator's experience; the product material usually is non-metalon rapid prototyping and manufacturing machine. According to the fact upon,wehope to find a way ,it is not to fit free face from the point cloud,but to get thenumercial control program through the disposed point cloud and to make the part byusing the numercial control program, so this way will displaythe high efficiency ofRE technology.Based on the idea, the paper realize a integrated course from the point cloud tothe numercial control program.At first we get the STL file from the point cloud ofpart,then we dispose the residual work by a module that was programed by Visualc++6.0 : we get intersectant lines by cutting plane intersected with equidistant planeof triangular facet in the STL file;at last we acquire a numercial control program bythe disposed intersectant lines. We can verify the numercial control program code byusing soft "Vericut 5.4".We study the way of the point cloud triangularization,getting tool path and theconversion of tool path to G code.The paper realize a new arithmetic about cuttingplane intersected with equidistant plane of triangular facet in the STL file.We can geta non-interference tool path by the imple and steadyarithmetic.The way present a favorable attempt about the combination of RE withnumercial control manufacturing.we hope more and more good will emerge soon.
