Usability-stability is all a pivotal problem of development of stainless steel covered electrode. In several influence factors of usability-stability stainless steel covered electrode, Metal transfer form is a crucial factor. In the past using traditional photoelectric oscillograph or high speed photography to evaluate usability-stability stainless steel covered electrode. The speed is slow and result is not precise to use photoelectric oscillograph and high speed photography is not been popularized. The two methods can but elicit qualitative concept. The ANALYSATOR HANOVER can sample electric signals of arc welding processes 200,000 samples each second. Theinstantaneous voltage and current values can be simultaneously registered and the values of short-circuiting time T1, burning time T2, cycle time Tc are also been registered. These have offered condition for quantitative evaluation of stainless steel covered electrode.This dissertation has researched metal transfer forms in statistical analysis method using the ANALYSATOR HANOVER. From values of probability density distribution of the welding voltage and class frequency distribution of the burning time that have been gained from the ANALYSATOR HANOVER, four characteristic information related to metal transfer forms extracted. These characteristic information included short-circuit probability n(Us), high voltage probability of arc burned again n(Ur), short-circuit times N(T1), and variation coefficient v . Corresponding n(Us)-N(T)) and v — n(Ur) relation graph of characteristic information were draw through the test of stainless steel covered electrode samples of different factories. In the basis of this graph metal transfer form of some kind of stainless steel covered electrode may be make certain.According foregoing principle a analysis software evaluatingusability-stability stainless steel covered electrode has been developed. This software can judge distinction of usability level quickly and export evaluation report. After measuring covered electrode of a factory using this software, asymmetry of the coating has been found. This indicate that using this software can also check asymmetry of the coating and offer important basis for produce technics.
