Cornus officinalis is one of the 40 key crude medicinal materials of large consumption. It is one of the 25 foliage medicines of the most frequent utilization in China, Japan and Korea. It is distributed widely in Zhejiang, Henan, Anhui, Shanxi, Sichuan of our country. In this article, the conditions of supercritical C02 extract Cornus officinalis was studied and compared with tradition solvent extraction. The yield of saponins and essential oil productivity of Cornus officinalis were investigated. The magnified experiments were studied.First in order to improve the yield of saponins and essential oil productivity, the influence of pressure, temperature, flow rate of CO2, the time of extraction the kind and content of entrainer were studied. Basing on the experiments of single factors, The best reaction conditions were determined by orthogonal test. The results showed that the best conditions of the yield of saponins were 55℃, 35MPa 8kg.hr~-1, v/w=0. 75; the best conditions of the essential oil productivity were at 45℃, 35MPa, 10kg.hr~-1, v/w=0. 75.Tradition solvent extraction method was researched and compared with the supercritical CO2 extraction. The results showed that the rate of the yield of saponins was higher. Considering the influence of every aspects, the extracting of saponins by supercritical CO2is of the industrial value. Basing on the minitype experiments, two levels of magnified experiments were studied. The amount of raw material, the volumes of extraction kettle and the separation kettle and the amount of entrainer were 10 times larger than the minitype experiments in the first magnified experiment. The conditions were same to minitype orthogonal test .The results showed that at the first level magnified experiment, the yield of saponins and essential oil productivity were same to the minitype experiments. The results showed that the effect of miginify was slight tothe productivity of extraction. The amount of raw material and the amount of entrainer were 40 times larger and the volumes of extraction kettle and the separation kettle were 10 times larger than the minitype experiments in the second level magnified experiment. The effect on the yield of extraction was studied when the amount of raw material and entrainer augmented.The test results showed that the augmention of raw material augmenting amount insufficiency of mass transfer , the increasing of resistance were harm to supercritical CO2 extractions. This problem can be solved by prolonging extraction time the flow rate of CO2 and granularity of raw material.This experiment results had significant value on supercritical CO2 extract Chinese traditional medicine and the industralization of supercritical CO2 extract effective ingredient of Cornus officinalis.
