At present, Environmental pollution becomes an important problem in people's daily life. The super content pollutant of nitrogen or phosphorus will make water in super-nutrition. Based on introducing a New Phosphate Removing Agent (NPRA) from Australia, we try to use NPRA to remove phosphate in different types wastewater. We test some relevant pollutants at different experimental stages and find out the removing phosphate efficiency in using NPRA.Based on the successful trial experience in using NPRA at Canning River, Australia, we locate our NPRA phosphate removing trial at Liujia County, Kunming City, Yunnan Province, PRC, where is the external Lake Dianchi. We rent a fish pond locally, and separate it in two parts, the trailed part and control part, after our cleaning up it. We plan this trial staying in two stages: the first trial stage period is from March 19, 2003 to July 31, 2003, and the second trial staged period is from Aug 1, 2003 to July 28, 2004. We spray NPRA granular into the trailed part of the pond, and after certain acting period, we take sample from analysis. This trial sampling analysis result indicates: though the climate of Kunming is very hot at the first trial stage, NPRS can still reduce the phosphate from 0.081mg/Lto about 0.040mg/L at trial part of the pond, at the same time, the TP concentration is going up greatly at control one ( Increasing from 0.268mg/L to 1.007mg/L), however, the TP concentration basically keeps stable at trial part (Just increasing from0.305mg/L to 0.390mg/L).After NPRA acting for the both trial stages period at trial part, the phosphate concentration was reduced from 0.081mg/Lto 0.01mg/L and TP from 0.305mg/L to 0.06mg/L, and transparency was increased from 28.5cm to 99.3cm. Additionally, lots of hydrophytes grow up well and the water was transfer from dirty to fully clear. In order to study the phosphate removing efficiency in using NPRS at different types wastewater bodies, we do some compared trials between NPRS and traditional phosphate removing agents in removing phosphate in wastewater and analyze these results. We find out NPRS can effectively remove phosphate in different type wastewater bodies: for example, NPRS can remove the phosphate from 1.005mg/L to 0.124mg/L in 4 min acting time, from 0.520mg/L to 0153mg/Land from 0.297mg/L to 0.04mg/L in 2.5 min acting time. Additionally, the relevant toxic tests indicate NPRS will not take toxic pollution for its treated water. After investigated in NPRS treating cost and potential application market, we find out: compare to other traditional agents, NPRS has its definite advantage both in treating efficiency, cost and its application range. In a word, NPRS has high phosphate removing efficiency, can be applied in different water bodies in treating phosphate, and will not take toxic pollution for its treated water. Because of the upper especial advantages of NPRS, it has a bright international application prospect.
