Ti and Ti-alloys are well known for their good properties: excellent low temperature plastic property, good machining property, high relative intensity, excellent anti-oxidation, anti-corrode and passivation property under 550℃. So they have been used for many fields: spaceflight industry, chemical industry, auto industry and other engineering fields. But as a kind of important structure material, Ti and its alloys also present some limitations: the surface of work pieces which made of Ti and its alloys is easy to scoring, scratching, or seizure, the wear resistance is bad, and its anti-erosion over 550℃ is poor. These defects limit the using fields of Ti and its alloys, especially the using field of spaceflight industry. For iron electroplating coating has good wear resistance, when it lays over Ti or Ti-alloy, the properties defects of Ti and Ti-alloys can be fetched up perfectly. So, in this paper iron electroplating coating was designed as a protecting layer of Ti and its alloys, on the other hand, iron electroplating coating also can avoid Ti-alloy contacting with some elements such as Oxygen, Carbon and Nitrogen, protect its surface not be corroded.In this paper following contents are discussed: how to activate the surface of Ti-alloy, devise and produce the electrical source of iron electroplating, how to select the correct technology parameters of iron electroplating, how to test the property of iron electroplating coating and how to select the technology parameters of lonitriding and ageing treatment.Main innovations and results are described as follow:(1) Based on the technology of iron electroplating and the basic knowledge of electricity, the electrical source of iron electroplating was produced. The source can fit the technology of iron electroplating well that be testified by following experiment.(2) Based on the chemical properties of Ti-alloy, the nice surface activate technology of Ti-alloy was devised by comparing different pro-disposing modes. Through test, this technology can make the binding-force between iron plating layer and the Ti-alloy base increased. The mechanism of activate was discussed.(3) By analyzing the experiment results of iron plating, the reasonable technology of iron plating was gotten.
