Natural macromolecule is modified to meet the specific needs, which has become one of pop fields of high polymer. In pursuit of handsome and comfort of costume, more and more scientists apply themselves to researching of fiber modification. Research of modified casein is in the highlight at all times. For former initiator had a lot of shortcomings, such as high price, difficult gain. Furthermore, much homopolymer was obtained and efficiency of graft was lower. So the exploitation of new and efficient initiator is in the highlight. In recent years, the worldwide macromolecular scientists make use of oxidizability of high valence metals (Ce4+) to initiate copolymerization, which has acquired outcome. But metals mentioned above could not initiate oxidation-reduction reaction with amide group that has weak reduction power. New initiating system of strong oxidizability must be founded to initiate this reaction. Now super valence Trans-Metals can initiate this reaction, this system possesses temperate reaction condition, high grafting efficiency, and low cost and comprehensive applied prospect.Efficiency of graft is the most important parameter measuring copolymerization reaction. Conventional method is gravimetric method, volumetric method and elementary analysis method. The two front methodsare not only time-consuming but also low accuracy. Elementary analysis method is high speed, but its determination is complex operation and high cost. So simple and easy operational method must be explored. Based on above tow points, the works of researches are as follows:1 Copolymerization methods are contrasted about reaction of casein and AN. The effects of many factors on the grafting parameters are investigated. The optimal way is established. Outcome of study is satisfying when it is used to textile mill.2 The part is focused on graft copolymerization of casein and olefinicmonomer initiated with super valence Trans-Metals-Cu (III). The effectsof many factors on the grafting parameters are investigated, such as concentration of initiator, concentration of homopolymer and reaction temperature. IR and SEM measure the grafting copolymer. The initiation mechanism is proposed. The effects structures of homopolymer on graft parameters are analyzed.3 This part is based on regarding characteristic peak value of casein u C-0( 1244cm~-1) and AN v c=N(2244cm~-1) as mensurating wavelength, the ratio of their absorbency is lined with the percent content of AN of graft copolymerization of casein/AN .A new method for the determination of constitution of graft copolymerization of casein/AN is founded by IR spectra. This method is simple fast and finer stability, and its result is accorded with elementary analysis method.
