The high-speed micro-drilling machine's spindle system isheart of the high-speed machine. The spindle's high-speedrotational movement and high-speed axial movement require notonly high rotational speed and great torque and high-power butalso maintaining well dynamic performance under high-speedmachining. Finite element analysis of dynamic performance onthe spindle system of high-speed micro-drilling tool aims toaccelerate the development of spindle technique and then raiseworking performance of micro-drilling tool. This paper begins with micro-drills. Firstly, structure of amicro-drilling machine and micro drills process can be simplifiedfrom the rotator dynamics; secondly, fundamental theory of finiteelement analysis are simply introduced on high-speedmicro-drilling machine's spindle system from the model ofTimoskenko beam element and Rayleigh beam element;furthermore, a dynamic model of the drilling system is developedfrom the rotor dynamics theory, including boundary condition ofthe end of drill, model of Timoskenko beam and Rayleigh beam,Model of centrifugal force, model of the bearings and thendynamic equation of the drilling system are developed; finally, the spindle system that two models descript are compared andthen whirl frequency and critical speed and stability of the spindle...
