Stable organic fluids containing Ag, Ag2S, PbS nano-particles modified by extractant Cyanex 301 (di-(2, 4, 4-trimethylpentyl) dithiophosphinic acid) have been prepared directly in alkane by solvent extraction-reduction or extraction-synthesis method. Ag+ (or Pb2+) is extracted firstly into alkane by Cyanex 301, then the obtained Ag+(or Pb2+)-Cyanex 301 complex is reduced with solid sodium borohydride or precipitated by H2S to obtain the organic fluids containing Ag, Ag2S or PbS nano-particles. The organic fluids are so stable that the nano-particles do not precipitate at room temperature for more than two months when the concentrations of Ag, Ag2S, PbS nano-particles are about 0.10, 0.17, 0.10 mol/L ,respectively. These nano-particles are characterized by XRD, TEM, IR, UV-Vis and TG-DTG respectively, showing that Ag, Ag2S, PbS nano-particles are well modified by the extractant. The obtained nano-particles can be dispersed well in organic solvent again and the new fluids are very stable in air. The loading concentrations decrease with the increase of the solvent polarity. The organic fluids are also prepared by the second method: Ag2S or PbS is precipitated from ethanol-water medium in the presence of the extractant Cyanex 301 and then re-dispersed in the organic solvent. The results indicate that the loading concentrations of Ag2S, PbS nano-particles in the organic fluids prepared by solvent extraction-synthesis are both much higher than that prepared by ethanol-water... |
