In this paper, we study the pulping and papermaking characterization and its mechanism. The results of Kraft cooking of these four bamboos show that obtaining the same yield, the kappa number of Bamdusa Pervariadilisx Grandis Nin 3# pulp is the lowest, and the characteristic viscosity is the highest; under the same alkali charges, the kappa number of Bamdusa Pervariadilisx Grandis Nin 3# pulp is the lowest, and its residual alkali charge is the highest. The results of single-stage hypochlorite bleaching and that of three stages C-E-H bleaching of bamboos above mentioned reveal that under similar bleachabilities, Bamdusa Pervariadilisx Grandis Nin 3# has certain advantages in aspects of whiteness and characteristic viscosity. The cellulose content of the raw material of Bamdusa Pervariadilisx Grandis Nin 3# is the highest. Pentosan content of its raw material is higher. Acid insoluble lignin (Klason lignin) content and acid soluble lignin content of Bamdusa Pervariadilisx Grandis Nin 3# raw material are all the lowest. Its hot-water soluble extractive content and benzene-ethanol soluble extractive content are the lowest too. But, its ash content is a little higherBamdusa Pervariadilisx Grandis Nin 3# has more fiber cells with large cell lumen and thick cell wall.Bamdusa Pervariadilisx Grandis Nin 3# is worst at average length of fiber and the ratio of fiber length to fiber width; but the distribution of its fiber length is even. Its ratio of fiber-wall thickness to fiber-lumen diameter is the smallest. The coefficient of flexibility of its fiber is the biggest. The results of IR analysis show that, to its male bamboo Big Bambusa lodhamii Munro, Bamdusa Pervariadilisx Grandis Nin 3# raw material has higher ratio of syringyl to guaiacyl. In the course of cooking, to BamdusaPervariadilisx Grandis Nin 3*, more carboxylic acids groups occur, the methoxyl groups of lignin evidently reduce. Results of solid state 13C NMR analysis reveal that contrasting to its male bamboo Big Bambusa lodhamii Munro, in the B -aryl ether units, the ratio of syringyl to guaiacyl of Bamdusa Pervariadilisx Grandis Nin 3" raw material is higher. After cooking, for the two bamboos, their percentages of the removal of syringyl carbons are higher than that of guaiacyl carbons. In addition, for Bamdusa Pervariadilisx Grandis Nin 3#, more carboxylic acids groups are formed in the course of cooking. And its carbons of B-0-4 structure, carbons of its aryl ether methoxyl groups and aryl total substituted carbons all decrease more. Its aryl total unsubstituted carbons of lignin increase more.
