Electroforming is a technology that the metal ion is deposited on core mould, then the metal is separated from the mould. It has excellent reproductive and repetitive precision. It is suited for making metal parts of such characteristics as complicated shape and fine form, etc.. Electroforming determines structure and physical characteristic of electroformed product to a great extent. In EDM, tool-electrode wear is inevitable, which influences the accuracy of shape of the parts. The tool-electrode wear is related with framework and physical characteristic of the material. In this paper, the following work has been done: 1. Comparing and analyzing the effects of current density and additives on surface morphology of the electroforming deposit. Reducing markedly the grain size of matrix metal Cu due to the existence of the additives 2. Analyzing the effects of current density and additives on tool-electrode wear. Selecting chlorine ion and some colloid additive as prescription of electroforming craft with best low tool-electrode wear ratio in EDM. 3. Adopting above-mentioned prescription in electroforming bath, tool-electrode of turbine blade made by electrodeposit is experimented on machine tool. The experimental result shows that the tool-electrode meets with the requirement of the production.
