Abstract/Summary:
Since our country is seriously short of water resources and suffers from severe water pollution, it's an urgent task to strengthen the prevention and control of water pollution. Effective pollution control systems depend on policies that are combined with technical, economic, social, and aesthetic considerations, technical and financial feasibility must be included in all practical considerations. Domestic and overseas practices prove that WTP is an effective approach to solve water pollution. The quantity and quality of the wastewater are the decisive factors to determine the technical process, investment and operating expenses of WTP. It happens frequently in practice that the erroneous decisions of the wastewater quantity and quality cause economical losses. In order to make the Nantaizihu WTP run economically and effectively, the paper analyses and predicts the wastewater quantity and quality.Excess infiltration of groundwater is the main reason that the inlet wastewater quality of the WTP in South China is much lower than the design level, so we have observed the infiltration of groundwater for four times, choosing the biggest infiltrate rate 0.484 m~3/ (km×mm×d) as the standard to calculate the infiltration. The wastewater quality is also related to the pollutant's degradation. Through analyzing the degradation in the trench and in the drainpipe, we get the degradation constant.Based on the recent existing materials of grade of service, population, present state of water supply and sewerage, the quantity of water and wastewater, the average domestic consumption etc, the paper predicts the wastewater quantity. Having observed the wastewater quality for several times, we have established the model to predict the wastewater quality, which can predict the quality change by industrial wastewater's scale, banning the septic tank, the change of wastewater discharged standard. The prediction can instruct the design and operation of the Nantaizihu WTP.Through analyzing the correlation of prediction value and real value, the result shows that the models to predict the quantity and quality of the wastewater are relatively credible and have good estimation precision. The models can be used to provide the basis for the Nantaizihu WTP and some other WTPs.
