This study is supported by the subprogram "effect of the hydrological factors on water bloom" of the program "the mechanism of lake eutrophication and water bloom occurrence"-the fifteenth National Basic Research Program (also called 973 Program). A lake ecosystem dynamics model, OOMAS(the Object Oriented Modeling of Aquatic Systems) is introduced into the study of the eutrophication of Taihu Lake. The hydrodynamic model, the water quality model and ecosystem model are combined in OOMAS model that Overcome the weakness of considering fewer factors, not reflecting the actual ecosystem circumstance, not providing the visual interface mostly and bringing some troublesome for the application. The model structure is analyzed. The datum measured actually and the parameters obtained in the correlative study are used. The parameters are validated through referring the literatures and debugging the model.OOMAS model is used to simulate the water level, water velocity and the distributing and the change of the main water environmental factors including TN, TP, Chl-a and DO etc. It is used to analyze the factors of the ecosystem system structure of Taihu Lake and algae growth, study the relation between physical and chemical factors and the process of algae bloom. The relation between the hydrodynamics, such as water velocity, and the algae quantity is analyzed too. Four kinds of schemes regulating and controlling water volume is designed, and each one adopted is simulated to forecast the effect to control and father the eutrophication of Taihu Lake. The quantitative effect of the hydrological factors on water quality is analyzed primarily. The basis to father the eutrophication of Taihu Lake synthetically and roundly is provided thereby.
