With the increasing progress of science and technology, the color as an industryis more and more important in daily life, especially in costume design and dressconsumption. It has been a preferred factor to draw up a plan in a good many fieldhow to predict dress fashion color well and truly. This question for discussion makesuse of the system of color and view of forecasting subject, and solves the problem thatthe related research is out of line with the prediction in fashion color fields. It isinnovational for the study to propose a theory to predict the fashion color and switchfrom qualitative analysis to quantitative analysis.Firstly, this paper analyzes the influence factors in prediction of fashion colorfrom the angles of economy, politics, culture and technology. Then, the authordiscusses a way of combining qualitative analyze with quantitative analyze. Third, forexample in man-dress spring-summer blue and suit-dress autumn-winter red, weutilize regression analysis method to set up practical predicting models of fashioncolor by specimen data, found predicting models of hue, value and chroma onspecimen data in 1998~2004, and carry through statistical inspection. Finally, basedon the tested regression equation, we dope out the prevalent degree of dress fashioncolor and the trend of hue, value and chroma in 2005, validate result and analyze errorby the communications of dress fashion color in man-dress spring-summer blue andsuit-dress autumn-winter red that International Fashion Color Institute issued.At present, forecasting dress fashion color mainly adopts a qualitative way. Thisarticle first puts forward a prediction method of combining qualitative analysis withquantitative analysis and probes into it. It is of real significance in developing theforecast theory, overcoming the disadvantages such as subjective idea and personalexperience guiding the production of rag trade and anticipatory consumption.
