At present, the traditional treatment process of the turbid circulating water always fails to remove SS (suspended solid) and oil efficiently. The new process embodied by self-cleaning dynamic membrane filter developed at our laboratory was approved to have the ability to remove simultaneously the SS and oil. The turbidity in effluent was less than 4NTU and the oil concentration in effluent was less than 4mg/L, as the turbidity in influent in the range of 10~1000NTU and the oil content in the range of 10~200mg/L. The flow could be reached 0.8m3/h in the larger flow experiment (The designed flow was 0.3m3/h), the head loss was 0.3MPa and currently was less than 0.2Mpa. The head loss was in the range of 0.05~0.06MPa when the flow was about 0.5m3/h.An industrial residue CAP was selected as filter aid to improve the capability of the equipment. The laboratory experiments approve that the capability of the equipment was improved after adding CAP. The total flow of a cycle increased 91~180L and the head loss could be reduced 0.05~0.1MPa. The CAP is a kind of industrial residue so that it could be used widely and cheaply. The equipment had run 5 cycles continuously for simulating the practical application in industry. The flow velocity and head loss of each cycle were quite similar. The filtration capability curves were almost superposition. The performance of the equipment was stable during the experiment. In this study the self-cleaning dynamic membrane was also used to remove SS from high SS-containing wastewater in which the SS concentration was in the range of 1000~10000mg/L. The results shows that the turbidity in effluent was less than 4NTU and the head loss was less than 0.1MPa.The equipment operated quite smooth during the experiment. The flow velocity became lower because of the high SS in the wastewater. The laboratory static absorption experiment on the fiber ball approved that the fiber ball may effectively absorb the oils. Many facts that influence oil removal rate, such as temperature, pH, amount of the fiber ball etc, were investigated in this thesis. Feasibility of using fiber ball as absorbent to treat oily wastewater was verified. Furthermore, the absorption mechanism was discussed to provide basis theory for its application.
