Water resources of Haihe river basin are short. In recent years, its water quality gets worse and worse. Pollutants accumulation from Haihe river mainstream and adjacent sea built heavy pressure up to region eco-environment.In this paper, distribution and eco-environmental behaviors of typical pollutants among multi-media environments in Haihe mainstream and adjacent sea were studied. The multi-media environments include surface water, interstitial water, surface sediments, land vegetation and aquatic organism etc, and typical pollutants include BOD5, COD, nitrogen, phosphorus, and heavy metals etc. It was concluded that as followed:1. Different as other rivers, Haihe river mainstream was divided by Er Dao gate and tidal gate, and its hydrograph, water potential and water quality appeared sectional characteristics. For example, salinity was very low in front of Er Dao gate, and it was increasing quickly at back of the gate, and to tidal gate, it reached the highest value.2. Relationship between nitrogen distribution and DO content showed that content of ammonia nitrogen in surface water was severely out of standard. Nitrogen content in surface water of inland was higher than estuary, especially nitrite nitrogen. Three nitrogen forms level of the seawater depends little on the DO content because of the homogeneity of the water properties, while that in the mainstream differs greatly with the DO levels. As a whole, DO content of river water was lower than that of seawater, especially in estuary, where DO is lowest, and three nitrogen content is relatively high, and nitrite content is highest. Total nitrogen content of river water was severely out of standard.3. Distribution characteristics of organic matter were concluded that contents of COD and BOD5 were high in city area and estuary, and the highest value appeared in estuary, where DO was lowest. That's to say, endogenous organic matter was degraded, and at the same time, DO was consumed, so water in estuary was lack of oxygen. DO content was also related to oil pollution in estuary, which affected reoxygenation.4. Assessment on surface water in Haihe river mainstream showed that TN, DO, COD_Mn.
