High-temperature oxidation is one of the main reasons of steel loss during production process . There are many bad effects produced by oxidation including low production efficiency , high energy consumption and high production cost. The oxide of steel affects normal production process and the quality of final product too . So it is necessary to avoid or reduce high-temperature oxidation of steel. This paper uses coatings to reduce high-temperature oxidation of carbon steel, 45# steel and T10 steel . The coatings are made by Al2O3 , ZrSiO4 , alcohol , resin and bentonite . Dip-coat is the main way to cover the coatings on samples surface . Carbon steel samples and samples with coatings are heated at 800℃ , 900℃ , 1000℃ and 1200℃ for 4-6 hours . TGA and photic-microscope are emploied to study the difference of oxidation amount between carbon steel samples and samples with coatings , the oxidation dynamic of carbon steel samples and the property of coatings .As experiment proves that the coatings have good effect on carbon steel high-temperature oxidation resistance . The oxidation amount of 45 steel drop from 5-6g to 2.6g after 4 hours heated at 1200℃ . The oxidation rate drop from 5.310× 10-5g/(mm.h) to 3.885×10-5g/(mm.h) under the same condition. The coatings also have good stickness with samples surface and good spalling resistance at high temperature . The application foreground of this kind of coatings is quite good .
