| The liquid flow fields on CTST were simulated on three-dimensional basis in this paper, which deepened the research of flow fields on CTST and provided information for designing new separating plate.After analyzing several models, K - s equations were chosen for closing the Reynolds equations. Integrated boundary was given to describe the liquid flow.The liquid flow fields were calculated for different cases according to the computational model on CTST. The results indicated that in the perpendicular direction, the velocity near and behind the caps and the velocity near the outlet weir were more than others. The velocity decreased with the increasing of the liquid height. Near the outlet weir, the velocity on the top of the outlet weir was more than others. The results also indicated that the liquid flow fields were affected by the liquid flux, weir height and the gas rate.By using hot-film anemometer, the liquid flow fields on CTST were measured and studied under different operating conditions in the experimental column with inside diameter of 1000 mm. The results showed that the ratio of the velocity near caps to that of entering into plate increased with the increasing of liquid flux and the gas rate, and decreased with the increasing of weir height.The comparison of the results of the simulations and the experiments showed that the model could describe the liquid flow on CTST well. |
