The storage of heavy oil is relatively large in China, but the problem of how to transport it remains difficult in all these years - during the process of transportation, the oil's viscosity coefficient rises as the its temperature descends, which lead the heavy oil harder to flow through its transporting pipeline. A good solution of this problem is to heat the whole transporting line through electromagnetic induction method, which is also named electromagnetic induction heating. This method will increase the transporting oil's temperature, declines its viscosity coefficient, prevent the wax in heavy oil from being coagulated, thus reduce the flowing friction.Electromagnetic induction heating has a lot of good characteristics, such as rapid heating, high heating efficiency, good product quality, little pollution, easy controlling, easy to be produced automatically and so on. Thus it develops fast in recent years. This paper introduces the basic principle of induction heating, deduces the academic formula of induction heating unit's inner electromagnetic field and eddy current distribution, and deduces the basic finite element equation of the axisymmetric thermal field. A numerical calculating method for electromagnetic field is also put forward in this thesis. Also in this article, the approach of how to induct complex magnetic vector potential into OPERA ,a large finite element analysis software, to calculate electromagnetic field and eddy current field is presented, and the way of how to analyze electromagnetic field, thermal field and coupling field is introduced. In addition, in this paper, a mathematic model is built according to the specialty of heating pipeline, and the method of how to deal with the problems of boundary conditions, mesh subdivided, material thermal property in simulated calculation is defined.Through the utilization of the post-processing program of 0PERA-2D software, some basic problems, such as the pipeline's eddy current field and its thermal field, can be analyzed and simulated.
