Based on the process of star-poly-butadiene synthesis, the star-poly-butadiene with molecular vary from 50,000 to 240,000 is produced. In the process, normal butyl lithium (BuLi) is used as initiator, SiCL} as linking agent and THF as structural regulator. The factors such as the best ratio of BuLi/SiCl4, the optimal reaction temperature and time are also studied to check their impact on the quality of the polymer.Some important equations are derived such as the relation of [ ?0] versus molecular weight and branch factor, the exponential relation of the contract factor versus brand factor based on the experimental data.The kinetics of star-polybutadiene reaction process is highlighted. The kinetic energy E and rate constant K are calculated, and then the kinetic model of polymerization reaction for star-polybutadiene is determined based on the experimental data.
