With the development of plastics industry, especially in the plastic material, conical twin-screw extruders are expanding rapidly and applied widely. But there were little paper issued in this filed. So it is significant to study its basic theory. In this study, a new conical screw with mixing elements: pineapple–like elements, which is being mounted in the distribution position, is studied. On a basis of experiment and analysis on output, residence time, pressure, fluxing state, this study emphasizes on mixing mechanism.First, building a three-dimensional and power model applying real shape without any simplification, according to actual running condition. Getting distribution of velocity, pressure and viscosity applying ANSYS. And getting distribution of shear rate, shear stress and average shear rate, average shear stress, through managing program. All these jobs are done for evaluating mixing effect. Finding the relationship of the flux, reflux, average shear rate, and average shear stress with some parameters, such as rotating speed, pressure difference, and clearance. In addition, investigating the distribution of velocity, pressure, viscosity and shear rate, shear stress in pineapple-like component of different number thread and gear form component. So we can choose a screw that is not only easy to be produced, but also propitious to improve the mixing effect.
