Gastrodia elata Bl. (GE) is a valuable herbal medicine which mainly used to deal with the diseases of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular system. It is essential and pregnant to study in-depth on GE and its related products with ascendant incidence of these diseases at present. It will directly provide reference data to extraction and purification process on medicinal materials and also supply reference to the modernization preparation of Chinese traditional medicine through the research on the extraction and purification method on mainly effective component of GE and investigate on preparation containing Gastrodin (GA).Correlation research on the extraction and purification method on the effective component of GE was described with the letterpress. The preparation containing GA called emulsion was made finally.Above all, the optimum chromatographic condition was developed to analysis the GA in the sample.Following,A microwave-assisted extraction procedure was developed for GA in Chinese herbal medicine GE, using an obturated microwave-assisted extraction device. The effects of the sample particles, solvent consistence, the microwave radiation time and solid / liquid ratio on the extraction output were studied. The optimum extraction condition: sample particle was smaller than 200 mesh; ethanol concentration was 50%; the microwave radiation time was 120 seconds; solid / liquid ratio was 1:30. Compared with Soxhlet extraction and ultrasonic extraction, microwave-assisted extraction is more efficient.The characteristics of macroporous adsorption resin AB-8, NKA-9 and S-8 in adsorption and separation on GA in GE extract was studied. The result showed that NKA-9 and S-8 had good static adsorption and desorption rate. The purification ability of NKA-9 and S-8 for Gastrodin was fine.The emulsion contained GA was made by ultra agitating and then processed with ultrasonic. The particle diameter of the micro emulsion was 4~6μm. The emulsion content of Gastrodin was 0.4~0.5%. The envelop rate of GA was perfect, this rate of the two emulsions were all above 93%. The particle diameter of the emulsion was always about the same through detection in 40 days and showed this preparation was stabilization.
