The chromone has been found in a lot of natural productions. It is highly sought after on account of its valuable biological activities, such as antibacterial, antivirus, promoting metabolism, treatment of the blood circulatory system and in asthma diseases as well as in liver cell regeneration, which due to the differential structure of the chromone. Chemists else have found that chromone linking heterocyclic framework have a more widely bioactivity, especially at C-3 position, have very strong interesting biological and chemical properties. Consequently, chromone chemistry continues to draw considerable interest of organic synthetic and medicinal chemists. In view of these observation and expect to realize the inforcement of many physiological activities by means of combining 3-formylchromone with different heterocycles that are barbituric acid and thiohydantoins, new fused heterocycles containing other moieties were synthesized. In addition, barbituric acid and thiohydantoin also have been received much attention owing to their significant biological activities. Herein we induce these heterocyclic compounds to chromones and get a series of target compounds, which have not been reported in the literature. The structures of the prepared compounds have been proved by elemental analysis, 1H NMR, IR and MS spectral date. The present papers deals with:1. 6-Substituted-3-formylchromone reacted with 1,3-disubstituted (thio)barbituric acid to give corresponding 24 5-(Chromone-3-methylidene) (thio)barbituric acid derivatives.2. A series of 5-chromonyl-2-thiohydantoin derivatives have been synthesized from 6-substituted-3-formylchromone with thiohydantoins which were cyclized from 2-aryl isothiocyanates and a-aminoacetic acid.3. Study of aldol condensation between 6-substituted-3-formylchromone and several cycloketones.
