Thermoplastic elastomers(TPE) are multifunction materials, which have rubber elasticity at ambient temperature and can be extrusion formed at high temperature. They have elasticity of rubbers, melt flow characteristics and reusability of thermoplastic plastics, so they can be used in many fields such as automobiles , architectures, medical equipments and so on. TPAE, which has been developed latest, is a novel TPE, and a kind of block polymers like polyurethane serial TPE and polyester-ester serial TPE. PA6 serial TPAE is a kind of important products in TPAE.A series of block polymers are synthesized by , -biscarboxy polycaprolactam and poly-aliphatic glycol. The researches on the degree of polymerization show the optimal reaction conditions are time:2h, temperature: 280 5 C, catalyst TBT: 0.35%. The highest relative viscidity of PCA/PEG is 1.86 and the lowest rate of extraction in boiling water is 1.45%.The structure and properties of block copolvmers are researched. The IR spectra indicates products are block polymers connected with ester bonds and the rate of extraction in boiling water show they are not simple mixtures. The TG of products shows the block polymers are thermal stability in the range of processing temperature of PA6. With the propagation of glycol chain and the increasing of its percentage content by weight, the tensile strength and hardness of the products decrease, but the elongation at break increases, its maximum value is up to 460% and the products display characteristics of elastomers. DTA, XRD and SEM figures of block copolvmers all show that the crystalline and mixed properties are harmed by the increase of poly-aliphatic glycol.
