| In this paper, the Relation between Aluminum powder shape and proportion and the explosion characteristics of Aluminized RDX were studied. The Aluminized RDX used were desensitized RDX as basic composition and spherical or flaked or spherical mixed with flaked Aluminum powders with variety of amount as additives, and the content of Aluminum powder in the explosives were 10%, 20%, 30%, 35% and 40% respectively. All the Aluminized explosive compositions were prepared in our lab during the process. The mechanical sensitivities, including impact and friction sensitivities, of the Aluminized explosives were tested by using relevant standardized test machines. The impact and friction sensitivities of the Aluminized explosives as a function of Aluminum powder shape and amount were obtained. The detonation velocities of the explosives were measured by using electrical digital instrumentation, and, the detonation velocity as a function of Aluminum powder shape and amount were also obtained. The detonation energy output of the explosives were tested by using underwater explosion test method and the influence of Aluminum powder specification on the energy output of corresponding Aluminized explosives were studied. The experimental results were discussed and some conclusions were drawn. The data obtained can be useful for developing Aluminized explosive compositions. |
