Reactions of ligands (CH3O)2(S) P-S-S-P(S) (OCH3)2 , C(S)NHCH2CH2 NHand NCH2CH (CH3) SC=S with Fe3(CO)12 and Ru3(CO)12 , yielded six novelmono-, tri-, iron and hexa- ruthenium carbonyls cluster . Their formula are as follows:These compounds have been characterized by elementary analysis , IR ( vco) and 1HNMR spectroscopy , and the structures of the clusters I a and III were determined by X-ray single crystal diffraction analysis. X-ray structural analysis reveals that Cluster I a is Monoclinic Crystal system, P2(1)/n space group. The metal framework of I a can be considered analogous to the "sofa" configure .The base of the hexanuclear skeleton forms an approximately planar array of five ruthenium atoms [Ru1 , Ru2, Ru3 , Ru4 and Ru6] , The Ru4- Ru6 edge is bridged by a sixth ruthenium atom .Angle between plan Ru4, Ru5, Ru6 and planRu1 , Ru3 , Ru4 and Ru6 . A five - co-ordination sulfur bridges four in-plane ruthenium atoms Ru1 , Ru3 , Ru4 and Ru6 and the out - of-plane ruthenium atoms Ru5. all carbonyl group are monodentate ligands ; III is monoclinic Crystal system, P2 (1) /n space group . a = 13. 156 (5) A, b = 9. 473 (3) A , c = 15.496(5) A , alpha = 90 deg , beta = 102.392(5) deg , gamma = 90 deg. The structure of I a, III, II are shown as follows:...
