In recent years, dye and printing wastewater has become one of the most polluted industrial water. There are many methods to deal with waste water, including the neutralization method, oxidization method, adsorption method and the coagulation method et. The coagulation method is being used widely for its advantages of powerful adaptability, simple processing, and low capital investment. The principal component analysis(PCA) could substitute a small number comprehensive variable for original multidimensional variable and obviously simplify data structure in the pre-condition of minimizing loss of original data information. Hence it was a simple and efficient method of comprehensive evaluation of coagulation effect .In this paper the biplot of principal component analysis is applied to analyze the data of flocculating experiment. The correlation among multidimensional operating parameters and important of flocculating decoloration caused by different parameters are discovered in the flocculating treatment of dyeing wastewater by complex flocculating agent. The operating parameters of flocculating experiment are optimized by this biplot. Through the PCA of operating parameters,3 main factors are extracted. The relationship between the main factors and the original parameters was discussed. The results showed that the dose of PAFC or PAC and coagulation time were the main contributors to the first principal components, while PH has a little effect on it .What's more, we compared the settlement rate of using two complex coagulants, the solid-to-liquor ratio after treating and final cost of per ton wastewater. The PAC+PAM program showed a smaller volume of sludge, a higher rate of settlement, and a lower cost of treatment. Using two complex coagulants has better characteristics for removing turbidity, color and COD, with a higher rate of settlement, a smaller volume of sludge, and a lower cost of treatment. In a word, it has a wide application prospect in dye and printing wastewater treatment.
