The residue of eucalyptus globules leaf oil contains valuable essential oil which has not been exploited because of high boiling point and other problems. This paper studies the methods of extracting essential oil from the residue of eucalyptus globules leaf oil in order to resolve the tough problems about high boiling point and high viscosity. The study concludes:1.Water distillation is firstly put forward to extract essential oil from the residue of eucalyptus globules leaf oil, comparing to other methods, common distillation and vacuum distillation, water distillation is the best way to resolve those difficulties. 2.More than twenty substances are identified by GC/MS, the content is: (-Terpineol 30.318%,10s,11s-Himachala-3(12),4-diene16.4942%,(+)-Aromadendrene 5.3671% and so on.The chromatogram and data prove that water distillation prevents thermo-sensitive substance oxidizing and decomposing.3.The properties of main substances in essential oil are calculated using Marrero method and ChemDraw software. The data are provided for separation process of ChemCAD simulation.4.The batch distillation process is simulated for separating three main substance using ChemCAD and three different content products have been got,in the bottom the main substance is Aromadendrene 40.6948%,in the pot three the main substance is (-Terpinoel 43.2330%,in the pot four the main substances are (-Terpinoel 56.7670% and 10s,11s-Himachala-3(12),4-diene 43.2330%. Conclusion is that water distillation is the best way to extract essential oil from the residue of eucalyptus globules leaf oil and vacuum distillation is the feasible way to separate single substance from essential oil.
