The successful application of the high efficient separation technology in The Special Solvent Plant of JinZhou TianYuan Group Cooperation is mainly discussed in this paper.The series of C9 arenes is important petrochemical material. It consists of n-propylbenzene,isopropyl benzene, 1-methy1-3-ethylben -zene,1-methyl-4-ethylbenzene,1-methyl-2-ethylbenzene,1,3,5-trimthylbenzene,1,2,4-trimthylbenzene,1,2,3-trimthylbenzene,etc. These ingredients are isomeric-compounds, and the differences between their boiling points are very close,so it is difficult to separate these compounds by common distillation. This kind of separation belongs to accurate distillation.For a long time, there had been some problems in The Special Solvent Plant of JinZhou TianYuan Group Cooperation. For example, the factual productability of the plant was lower than that of design, besides, the purity and the productivity of the main product—1,2,4-trimthylbenzene were very low. For the requirement of the company,it is necessary to improve the technology and enlarge the productability of the plant,at the same time, new product—the enriched 1,3,5-trimthylbenzene can also be produced.Some work should be done in order to resolve the problems in the process of accurate distillation. Firstly, the original plant is needed to be analyzed and studied,and the actual producing data are also needed to be classified and put into order. Secondly, the technological process has to be calculated and simulated by computer,and the standard of the original plant is need to be demarcated. Then the reasons may be fond out which caused such problems. Finally, based on a kind of technology of high efficient separation, that is the technology of new structured packing column, the equipment is to be rebuilted and designed in order to get the aim of reconstruction.This study mainly include: the separation of C9 arenes, the demarcation of the original plant, the choice of program's model, the simulation of the technology, the study of the structured packing column's application and the industrialized design of the separation of C9 arenes.With the reconstruction of original plant, the productability of the plant and the productivity of the main product-1,2,4-trimthylbenzene has been enlarged respectively from 2.5×107kg/a to 3.6×107kg/a and from 37.7% to 98%. At the same time, the purity of the 1,2,4-trimthylbenzene has been increased from 98% to 99%. Besides, the new product-the enriched 1,3,5-trimthylbenzene has also been gained. Therefore, it indicates that the technology of the separation of C9 arenes has reached the international advanced level with successful application of the new structured packing column's technology. Considering the international and domestic condition of the low using rate of C9 arenes, the technology of new structured packing column will produce huge influence on the separation and general utilizetion of C9 arenes.
