Treating phenol wastewater is an important task with practical value. On the basis of surveying phenol wastewater controlling approaches inside and outside country,phenol wastewater treated by ultrasound oxidation technology and photocatalytic oxidation technology was studied systematically in this paper. The study showed that the technology was in these two possessions of the prominent virtues, such as simple processing equipment, operation conditions controlled easily,no secondary pollution,etc.But these technologies can treat low concentration of phenol wastewater efficiently, they can not treat high or medium concentration of phenol wastewater efficiently. Sonophotocatalytic oxidation technology can maintenance the prominent virtues of these technologies and treat effiently this kind of wastewaterSo it can provide new thoughts and pathways for industrialization treatment of phenol wastewater and will be endowed with extentsive application prospect in the phenol wastewater treatment. The main contents of experiment were as follows:(1)Using the ultrasound oxidation technology treating phenol wastewater.factors affecting ultrasound oxidation reaction were studied in details such as different modes, initial pH value, amount of ferrous sulfate and initial concentration, amount of Fenton,etc. The kinetics of ultrasound oxidation reaction for phenol solution was studied in TiO2 catalyst suspension phase, the results showed that the reaction was the first-order(2)Using phenol as objective pollutant in screening photocatalyst test, photocatalytic activity of some kinds of catalyst of titanium dioxide was analyzed and reviewed respectively.The results indicated that the photocatalytic activity of anatase TiO2 was best when compared to their photodegradation effect for phenol and economy.(3)Phenol was selected as representative phenol wastewater to simulate this kind of wastewater which was treated by photocatalytic oxidation using the anatase TiO2 as photocatalyst. Factors affecting photocatalytic oxidation reaction were studied in details, such as intial concentration of wastewater ,catalyst araount,pH value, Calcinations temperature and time, adding concentration of H2O2, amount of oxygent and amount of Fe2O3.etc.(4)Comparing with ultrasonic oxidation technology and photocatalytic oxidation technology, The results indicated that sonophotocatalytic oxidation technology can treat phenol wastewater effiently ,and the enhancement was barely as much as the sonophotocatalytic oxidation technology in which the photocatalytic oxidation and the ultrasound oxidation technology were implemented simultaneously along with the whole process.lt showed that there was the synergistic effect of the photocatalytic oxidation and the ultrasound oxidation technology.Major factors affecting sonophotocatalytic oxidation reaction were studied .(5)The kinetics of sonophotocatalytic oxidation reaction for phenol solution was studied in TiO2 catalyst suspension phase, the results showed that the reaction was the first- order and the velocity of reaction was coincident with multiphase catalytic kinetic eqution:Langmuir-Hinshelwood equation.
