In the coal exploiting process, fault and collapsed pole are balefully abnormal geologic body which destroy the continuity of coal seam, reduce the efficiency of mechanical coal mining badly, even caused pervious gas and water outburst and threaten the safety of coal minning. With the continuous development of mechanization, the requirement to coal mine exploration are improved increasingly. The application of high resolution 3-D seismic method which own abundance information, high resolution and great density of controlling net makes it possible to better explore small geologic body such as small fault and small collapsed pole. Though 3-D seismic method has become a effective technical way of structure exploration in coal mining, the seismic interpretation is also not entirely adequate for meeting the needs of mining production because of the complexity of distribution and the particularity of seismic response of small fault and small collapsed pole.Based on the physical property of fault and collapsed pole, the thesis formulates the feasibility of detection small fault and collapsed pole by seismic reflected wave method and designsmathematical model of fault and partial collapsed pole according to principle of ray tracking and wave equation; analyses each characteristic response of fault and collapsed pole with different parameters by the mean of simulating from the point of view of kinematics and dynamics; Further study is made to distinguish collapsed pole from fault, fold and graben on the grounds of previous research about delayed diffracted wave from collapsed pole. In the end, generalizes the reflection features and identifications of fault and collapsed pole in seismic data linking up with practical material.
