The applications of methyl carbamate as intermediates in the process of organic synthesis are reviewed in this paper. Methyl carbamate can also be used in agriculture,architecture,textile and so on. The different synthetic methods of methyl carbamate are also assessed. Preparation of methyl carbamate is the main content for this paper. At the same time coupling reaction combined with urea and methanol is used in the synthesis of methyl carbamate. A set of high-temperature and high-pressure resistant, stainless steel autoclave reactor is designed and installed. During the reaction process, the autoclave is electric-heated and magnetically stirred. The temperature and pressure are detected and controlled respectively by thermocouple and pressure sensor, which have been precisely calibrated. The reaction mixtures are analyzed by gas chromatography (GC) with n-butanol added as the internal standard. Experiments have been carried out at different temperatures, pressures and coupling agent quantities for different time so as to acquire their effects on the synthesis reaction and to find the optimal reaction condition. Reaction rate functions at different temperature,activation energy and the rule of reaction are calculated by dynamics.
