With the development in past years, practice and experiment technology of crosswedge rolling has been to a high level. Yet the deforming mechanism of cross wedge rolling is quite complicated, with multitudinous factors affecting, there are still questions in theory to need discussing and researching further. Fortunately, technology of finite element simulation can help to resolving these problems. However, application of the technology used in simulating deformation of cross wedge rolling is now in initial stage, studying range of which is limited. Up to now, technicians still adopt conventional method of practice and experiment to study shaft deformation by cross wedge rolling. So simulating and analyzing shaft deformation process by cross wedge rolling has very important sense for theory developing and technology popularizing.This article successfully simulated the whole deformation process of shaft by cross wedge rolling, where material of workpiece is AL1100, with the finite element software ANSYS/LS-DYNA, totally designed and analyzed four element models for studying. Using the general post processor of ANSYS/LS-DYNA, the article showed pictures of strain distribution of workpiece during deformation, and analyzed strain distribution characters of cross section and longitudinal section, with reasonable and detail describing. In virtue of the time history post processor of ANSYS/LS-DYNA, the article gained data of strains and rolling forces of time history, by plotting and contrasting, summarized varying characters of strain and rolling forces in rolling process, further more, studied the effect on strain and rolling forces of these three technics factors, forming angle, stretching angle and section reduction. To sum up, this article has definite reference value for further discovering characters of workpiece deformation, strain distribution and rolling forces in cross wedge rolling, instructing practice and production. |
