The hyperbranched polymer have been attracted considerable attention due to its highly branched units with peculiar properties, such as low melt viscosity, dissolubility, non-entanglement and a large number of active end groups. Hyperbranched polymers were widely used in many fields, such as functional materials, clinical medicine, supramolecular chemistry, biochemistry and pharmaceutical industry. In this paper, Three kinds of hyperbranched polymers were synthesized, and we studied modification of PVC by hyperbranched poly(amide-ester)s.There five chapters in this pater, and the main contents are as following. In chapter 1: the overviews of the progress in hyperbranched polymers were given. In chapter 2: synthesis and characterization of the AB2 type hyperbranched poly (amide-ester)s. A kind of hyperbranched poly(amide-ester)s, which was soluble in water, was synthesized by the reaction of the succinic anhydride with diethanolamine, and the products were characterized by FTIR, MS, DSC, TG, VPO techniques, and so on.In chapter 3, study of the synthesis and the dynamics of the polymerization process of the type of AB3 hyperbranched poly(amide-ester)s. In this chapter, the type of AB3 hyperbranched poly(amide-ester)s were synthesized by the method in chapter 2, which used succinic anhydride and tri(hydroxymethyl) aminomethane as material, and the dynamics of polycondensation is studied, the equation of dynamics of poly-condensation for the type of AB3 hyperbranched poly(amide-ester)s was given. The results show that the polycondensation is third-order and self-catalyst process. In chapter 4: synthesis and characterization of the type AB2 hyperbranched polyesters. In this chapter, the hyperbranched polyesters, which have different content of phenolic groups, were synthesized by ester interchang-polymerization using of the difference reactivity of phenolic groups and acetate groups. And the monomer and hyperbranched polyesters were characterized by FIIR, DSC and DTG techniques. In chapter 5: study on mechanical and Theological properties of hyperbranched poly(amide-ester)s/PVC blends. The effect of content and shear rate on the blends were examined. As the content of hyperbranched poly(amide-ester)s increased, the melt apparent viscosity decreases rapidly, and the blends appeared a maximum value of the tensile strength and impact strength of the blends, the rheological behavior of the blends approximate to Newtonian behavior. Finally, the H-bonded interaction scheme was proposed to give the reasonable explanation of the experimental results.
