The technology of digitizing and data processing is the key in digitizing shoe last. The system for digitizing & manufacturing shoe last is the important part of computei-aided shoemaking system using foot shape data, which mostly includes foot shape acquisition, shoe-wearing simulation, shoe datahase, digitizing shoe last etc. This paper focuses on computer-aided foot shape acquisition, shoe, last measuring, surface reconstruction and NC(numericalJy-controlled) manufacturing, achieved by the author.Due to the foot structure and biomechanics, the foot shape data is obtained from the foot characteristic views by digital camera and the program is developed by Visual C++6. 0. Shoe last measuring is carried on a NC machine with a 3D analogue probe. The probe scans the shoe last revolving body in tracing mode. The coordinates of those points are stored in the computer' s memory according to chordal error. Based on the theory of B-spline surface, the probe compensation of the measuring result is accomplished by Matlabn.3, and the cutting tool paths of rough, semifinish, finish machining can be calculated with different radius. Furthermore, based on surface reconstruction the universal CAM software can also accomplish post-process and produce NC code. Finally, shoe last is made in the NC milling machine. |
