S02 in the almosphere and its acid deposition is one of the important environmental problems. The coal is the main energy sources in our country. SO2 pollution deriving from burning coal has been the main characteristic of atmospheric pollution in our country. Therefore the treatment of S02 type of atmospheric pollution must been carried out as soon as possible. It is one of the focuses which are paid wide attention in the environmental protection field that the advanced and feasible desulfurization technologies are studied. In this paper, it is brought forword that the method of desulfurization and resourcilization from flue gas by the high concentration of OH'forming in the strong ionization discharge, which is based on the key NSFC Project "Studies of Method and Application of Gas Molecules Ionized with Strong Electric at High Pressure Field" (No. : 60031001).Using the extreme physical method of electrons accelerated and gas molecules excitated in the strong ionization discharge, the gas discharge of strong electric field can be formed. The electric field intensity, the average energy and density of electron are respectively more than 400Td, 10eV and lO~15/cm~3 in the discharging gap. O2 and H20 molecules are ionized and dissociated to form the high concentration of OH', which can directly oxidize S02 into the droplets of H2S04 in the plasma rector.The experimental results show that S02 can be removed without catalyzer and absorbent at the gas running temperature. The efficiency of S02 removal can attain to 100% under the feasible condition such as: The air gap of plasma reactor is 0. 64mm; The exci tation frequency is 10kHz; The excitation voltage is 2. 4kV; The primary concentration of S02 is about 1000?????10-6; The gas flow is 0. Im3/h; The oxygen content is 21%; The water content is 3. 6%;Thegas temperature is about 120癈, which realizes zero pollution release and i s a green desul furi zation method. In addition, the analytical result about experimental product shows that high concentration of sulfur acid is produced, which realizes the resourcilization during S02 being removed and gives a new method to produce sulfur acid.
