The traditional development is set up on the premise of " the natural resources are inexhaustible ". On the contrary, the Sustainable Development maintains the view of " the development of contemporary people should not influence the later needs of our descendants ". Obviously, the latter is the inevitable choice of historical development.With the arrival of times of " sustainable development", the tide of " green consumption " surges forward. Green Products emerge in an endless stream, throughout the countries all over the world, in all trades and fields. A vigorous " Green Movement" is in progress.The furniture is a kind of durable consumption closely linked with mankind's daily life. The environmental performance of the furniture products can affect on people's health directly. As a kind of special research field, there should be its own study on the topic of environmental protection.This paper is on the topic of environmental protection of furniture with its characters ofbeing strategic and technological. With the method of systematic analysis, the theory frame of " technology system of modern green furniture " has been established in this paper. Some key elements in this technology system has been discussed as while. The whole text is divided into three parts altogether, and the overview is as followed:Part I -Basic Theory And Basic ConceptionThis part is the macroscopic theory foundation of the whole paper, including the theories of " Sustainable Development theory "," Ecological Sociology " , " Ecological Economics " , " Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)" .And also some conceptions, such as" Green Products " ," Green Technology ", " Green Furniture ", " Green Material ", " Green Design " , " Green Manufacturing "," Green Marketing "," Green Packing " ,have been involved .The theory of " Sustainable Development " is not only the theoretical foundation of this research, and also it is the guidelines. The theory of " Ecological Sociology " is about the relations among people, nature, and society, which is useful for understanding the social and ethical basis of Green Furniture. The theory of " Ecological Economics " describes the relation among products, environment, economic , as is the theoretical foundation of the balance between environmental performance and economic performance of furniture products. LCA is one of the important means used for the research of products, and it is a most common and effective research approach.Part II --Technology System Of The Modern Green FurnitureThis part is a key content of the whole thesis, adopting the method of LCA to analyse the whole life cycle of the furniture products systematically. Taking the character of the life cycle of the green products into consideration, the system of " Five Greens " of the green furniture products is designed.1. The material of the green furniture- the material base of the green furniture: This part adopts the train of thought of " proposing - analysing - solving ", and namely states briefly at first what kinds of material used for furniture. Secondly the adverse factors affecting on the environment is analysed in the process of making choice of material . The principle of how to make choice is set up. Finally the corresponding way is put forward. 2.The design of the green furniture- the key place of the green furniture: This Part proposes that there are different content of design, when facing different object such as developing, manufacturing, retrieving. It has to take different design factor into c onsideration and to hold the different design criteria.3.The manufacturing of the green furniture- the key link of the green furniture: It is the main part of this text.
