To meet the creative technics of pocket machining and its functional requirements to NC system, this dissertation deals with the development of Numerical Control System for machining of pockets in automobile synchronization regulator sleeve. The following work is completed.On the basis of analyzing the shortcomings of the current technics for pocket machining, Hypocycloid-based technique together with interpolation is introduced and studied.Through the analysis of Hypocycloid-based technique together with interpolation, The Open Architecture Numerical Control System scheme for machining of pockets is developed.Hardware chosen is based on the system scheme. According to their functions, hardware modules are connected. Based on the functional requirements to NC system, parameters of all the hardware modules are configured. The position servo control system is introduced and some parameters of the system are reasonably optimized. In order to improve the practicability of the NC system, some fundamental NC functions such as Handwheel,Overtravel Limits and Home are developed.With the idea of modularization, the CNC software system is carved into many modules and the framework of the CNC software is developed.
