The spectacles used for rectifying the eyesight have a long history, but a history of optical glass lenses isn't long. Using optical glass as the materials of the spectacles goes through the stages of low refractive index to high refractive index. The common spectacle glass are optical white lenses with nd=1.5230 and high refractive, low dispersion lenses with nd=1.7000. The glass lenses with nd>1.8000 have recently been appearance in the markets. It belongs to La-series glass and has higher process technology compared with that of the common spectacle glass materials.Through studying the glass formula and their process, we have successfully developed the spectacle glass products with special high refractive and lower specific gravity. The products related in this paper have good optical properties and physical chemistry parameters. They're developed for high-degree eye suffers and top grade lenses market.On the basis of the system of La2O3-B2O3-Nb2o5-CaO-SiO2, this paper introduce other outer network oxide to disturb the glass crystallization in order to obtain a stable glass formula. Through exploring the process and properties under this formula, we successively conducted trial production and manufacture in the whole platinum continuous melting lines with 0.3L, 5L,30L and have got good economic benefits.
