To general problem of the slab head bending in rolling, the effect of geometric shape coefficient of the deformation zone and entry angle on head bending is researched. The anti-symmetry of deformation and metal flowing in height is observed and analysed by static pressure and rolling experiments. Experimental results show that the anti-symmetrical deformation is the essential reason resulted in the slab head bending in rolling. The slab head bending is related closely to the geometric shape coefficient of the deformation zone and entry angle. The paper simulates the influence laws of roller speed, roller diameter, entry angle, friction coefficient and reduction, etc. on the slab head bending by the finite element method. The simulant resultes are consistent with the change trend of experimental resultes. These results of the research have very important role for effective controling the slab head bending in production.
