With the rapid development of WEDM technology, the automatic programming software of WEDM is playing a more and more important role. In this paper, the technologies of WEDM automatic programming software development based on ACIS are studied, and 4-axis WEDM programming technology is researched widely and in depth.At first, the features and data structures of ACIS are introduced. And the framework of the WEDM software is presented. Subsequently, several algorithms of 2-axis WEDM programming are researched and implemented, which include the path generation of the electrode wire, correlation of model and wire path, intersections of glyphs of Chinese characters and prevention of flaw. In this paper, taper and top bottom different shape cutting programming of 4-axis WEDM software are studied and implemented. The taper programming includes that of normal taper and varying taper. In the top bottom different shape programming, the key technologies, such as relation determination of the contours on top and bottom surfaces, constraint lines addition and curve linearization ,are analyzed and studied. The corresponding algorithms are realized and cutting examples of WEDM are given. |
