MCK (Methyl Cedrenyl Ketone) is an important fragrance ingredient, whose main order carrier is IsomerG IsomerG is the product of Acetylation of OlefinB which is from Thujopsene acid-catylized isomerization. The quality of MCK depends on its odor mainly, concerned with the content of IsomerG tightly. To improve the containing of IsomerG in MCK will benifit the quality of it well. The isomerization of Thujopsene is very complicated, but the main reactions go along two routes. The mechanisms of those main reactions have been detected. But no research has be launched to find a way to get one certain product of isomerization as much as possible. Our research focuses on looking for an acid-catalyst applied in isomerization of Thujopsene to get more OlefinB, then to get more IsomerG after acetylation. Many kinds of acids have been studied in our experiments. After analysis for their abilities to the Isomerization of Thujopsene, we compared their catalysis selectivity, then select Fluorid Boric Acid as the best catalyst for farther research. The best reaction condition has be ascertained after experiments under various ratioes of catalyst and Thujopsene and temperature. It has been approved that the containing of IsomerG in the product from the two-step production process is more than the one from the former one-step process. We design the elementary process flow chat and the operation instruction for this new process of MCK production. And waste water treatment has been discussed here to make our research result more practical to be applied in practice.
