The characteristic of mechanical dynamical load is the primary foundation of controlling feed properly, reducing the wear of tools and improving machining quality. It is difficult to apply traditional measurements of load, such as strain gauge measurement etc., to practice. The most difficulty in application is that paste process lacks warrant. Meanwhile the reliability of paste quality is not long enough. The traditional measurements are not suitable for bad working environment. More and more clearly, they don't meet the needs of quick and effective measurement of load. Therefore it is important and even critical to design a new measurement in settling those difficulties mentioned above.When the running part of the mechanical equipment driven by electromotor is working, there is certain qualitative relation between the characteristic of mechanical dynamical load (such as cutting force, punching force etc.) and electromotor's running parameters (such as current, power , voltage, rotate speed etc.). The mathematical model about the qualitative relation can be built up through theoretical analysis and experience. Based on this, this article proposes a new measurement to obtain load characteristics. Without directly measuring load, the new method is just to measure electromotor's running parameters which are far away from load. Then the load is calculated through the mathematical model. That is to say, the rule of mechanical dynamic load is reflected by monitoring electromotor's running parameters. This new method will take the place of traditional measurements and has a broad prospect for application.Based on the measurement mentioned above, the cutting load of machine tool and asynchronous electromotor are selected to be the main objects of study in this article. In terms of their relation, a mathematical model is built up which helps to develop a set of testing system. The system applies to measure electromotor's running parameter. In its application, the correctness of the mathematical model and the practicability of the testing system are demonstrated by analysis of testing data.
