Based on the synthesis method of bisoxazoline, 2,2'-(1,3-phenyl)bis(4,5-dihydro)oxazole(l,3-BOX) was prepared by cthanolamine and 1,3-dicyanobenzene. The target compound, which its melt point was 145-147℃, was a white crystal product, and proved by IR analysis & H'-NMR spectrum. The react time was 8-10 hours and the best Lewis acid catalyst was the one contained Zn element..With the copolymerization of 1,3-BOX and diaminodiphenylmethane(DDM) the Poly(aminoamides) Resin(PAAR) was prepared. The properties of PAAR was related to the compositions and the best one was appeared, which the molar ratio of 1,3-BOX and DDM was 1:0.75. Its bending strength was 202.7MPa, the izod impact strength was 22.17kJ/m2, and the heat-resistant temperature was 180.6℃ The toughness-brittleness transition was found by the composition change of PAAR. Laminates based on the PAAR was prepared and its flex strength was 435.5 MPa, surface resistance was 0.30×1011 Ω and volume resistance was 2.33×1012Ω -cm.As far as the modification by E-44 epoxy was concerned, both heat-resistance and mechanical properties of PAAR decreased little. But the properties of laminates based on the modified resin increased brilliantly, which bending strength was 567.3MPa and surface resistance was 0.97× 1011Ω.Further, the phenolic resin and episulfide-epoxy resin modified by 1,3-BOX was discussed. The advanced investigation magnified the appliance of 1,3-BOX.
