Abstract/Summary:
The IR emission spectrum of methane is detected and measured under DC glow discharge condition in this paper. The conditions that methane is converted into c2 hydrocarbons in the plasma by DC glow discharge are researched by the method of spectroscopy. The optimum combination between electric current density and input quantity is put forward. The distinct difference of time between methane decompose and Cj hydrocarbons synthesis is specially pointed out. The formation of C2 hydrocarbons materially begins after the reaction of methane decomposition tends end. The data between electric current and workable feed gas is obtained on the basis of DC glow discharge. The reactor dimension can be determined according to the optimum combination value, what's more, added to the feed gas providing conditions, moderate feed gas flow can be obtained under such conditions. Which provides basis for future reaction scale-up.At present, It is at phase of basis research that methane is conversioned by the method of plasma. Although the equipment used in plasma chemical reaction is simple, the operation parameters which in the process that electric input quantity changed into chemical input quantity are complicated. Parameters, such as gas efflux, pressure, power, et al. are easily protected and controlled. On the other hand, Parameters, such as reactor shape, electrical effect, space charge, et al. are difficultly presumed. All the Parameters are related to result of the reaction.The experimental aim is to research the time characteristic of methane decomposition and C2 hydrocarbons formation, as well as to find the controllable macroscopic parameters which affect the quantity of C2 hydrocarbons formation. After the process flow is determined, photoeletricity technology is used as the method of analysis and measuring. Methane plasma conversion is researched by themethod of IR spectroscopy in this paper, the correlation information is not found. The method is fast, simple, easily operation, especially suitable to the similar research , which is proved by the experimental result.The design of reactor assures that the reaction is in plasma zone. The reactor shape not only does good to measuring but also leaves large space for out-controlling. The view-point of the reactor in low temperature plasma reaction will be put forward.The optimum data between electric current and workable feed gas is obtained on the basis of a lot of experiments.
