Flocculation is the most widely adopted in wastewater treatment. Flocculation effect concerns with the flocculant property directly. Based on the analysis and generalization of the existent organic macromolecular flocculants preparation and flocculation property research, a new natural organic product named DXSL桰, which belongs to a kind of green (or called environment-protected) flocculants, was prepared by quasi-corn-core-powder (QCCP), a low-priced and an easily-got raw material. Its preparation was to modify the raw material with cationic reagent. Meanwhile preparation experiment conditions and parameters were optimized through a lot of orthogonal experimental studies.In its preparation QCCP was used as the matrix, H202-FeSO4 was utilized as the initiator and the copolymer product of triethylamine and epichlorohydrin was used as the cationic reagent - M. 2.0 g QCCP was mixed with 8 ml M. The optimized reactions included two steps: Firstly, QCCP was alkalified at 40 癈 for 1 h under the condition of H20 8 ml, NaOH 0.7 g and NaCl (as depressor ) 0.1%(in total mass). Then it was etherified at 55 癈 for 3.5 h using HaOa-FeSC^ 0.01% (in total mass) as initiator.In addition, an indoor evaluation system of cationic flocculants based on the spectroscopic method was designed. We found that a new parameter named "transparency grads - AT" was very useful to evaluate flocculation property. AT could be described as the transparency difference of the turbid solution from the top to the bottom. It is a function of vertical height (h). The smaller AT value, the better flocculation effect. The flocculation property experiments showed that the flocculation effect of DXSL桰 was superior to that of other flocculants such as PAM( Polyacrylamide ) and AC(Aluminum chloride). DXSL桰 is characterized of small dosage, rapid coagulation ("alum flowers"), large "alum flowers" dimensions, rapid precipitation and great flocculation swelling coefficient.Furthermore, elementary experimental researches on its application and environmental biological effect were carried out. The analysis and ratiocination of theflocculation mechanism were studied in detail as well. The experimental results showed that DXSL桰 has a great disposal efficiency in the high-concentration-oil sewage treatment. When the oil concentration is over 2000ppm, the disposal efficiency will reach up to at least 60% in 10 h. So it can be applied in fleet primary treatment of the sewage with high concentration oil. And what's more, it was obviously observed that the water handled by routine-concentration DXSL桰 could improve fishery farming background. The experiments also could tell that it is environmentally harmless.
