It is well-known that sericin is the main pollutant in degumming water of silk mill which is high and thick organic waste water. But up to now, it is partly handled together with dyeing-water, or partly let off without handled. The former makes it more difficult to treat the silk degumming water, and the latter will pollute environment. Aiming at the above problems and considering environment and economy factors, this paper researches the treatment methods of the waste water and the process of sericin recycling.The first step is to recycle sericin efficiently, so that the contaminative degree of the waste water declined greatly. Now, scholars have been concentrating on the research methods to recover sericin efficiently, such as acidification method, flocculation, organic solvent-method, centrifuging method, membrane filtration and freeze method and so on. According to the characteristics of the degumming water and the properties of sericin protein, we have researched these methods respectively from the recovery principle, the technical processes and actual problems to their resolving methods.The second step is to go on handling the waste water after sericin recycling by biological method. Although the contaminative degree of the waste water after sericin recovering has declined considerably, it is still not up to the Second Class National Drainage Standard. We take advantages of the technique used to the waste water in food industry, and it has been proved to not only run steadily, but also the waste water treated can be up to the Second Class National Drainage Standard. Therefore, it is not only reasonable, but also has a better result.The third step is to study on reusing of the waste water after sericin recycling and to observe and test the degumming effect after using different ratio of waste water with the same degumming processes. China's water resources is lacking and the reuse of dirty water return is one of the methods to save water. The analysis in theory and the experiment result have proved that the partly reuse is reasonable and the degumming effect matches with that of original deguming processes essentially.Finally, we experiment and analyse the physics and chemistry properties of the sericin recycled, we also discuss and predict the application and foreground of sericin.Yang Guangming (Textile) Directed by Pan Fukui, Shi Baolong, Guo Xianying...
